I’ve been playing EVE Online, off and on, for more than a decade. One of the things I did not get involved in, but wished I did, was Faction Warfare. If I would have, meeting KhellendrosX would have eventually happened. From what I hear, and missed out on, he was extremely well known in the community; Not just for his gameplay, but for what a wonderful person he was. The one thing about the EVE community is that no matter what you do, you get to know the people you play with in very impactful ways.
On the 5th of May, Cinco de Mayo, a holiday celebrated in the United States as an excuse to drink and party, my friends in EVE from all over chose to make an extremely fun fleet that mimicked what KhellendrosX was like: FUN. It was one of the most fun fleets I have been in for quite a while and if KhellendrosX was anything like that, then I truly missed out on meeting and playing with someone that was so impactful in the EVE community.
As a retired member of the United States Armed Forces, I will give my customary send off to those who have started the next part of our journeys in life: Be at rest, for we have the watch. Fair winds and following seas.
