Remembering the Butcher of Oicx

MEMORY FROM Triple Deke
Recorded On May 1, 2025

We started the Handsome Millionaire Playboys in 2009 to prove that if new players in cheap ships were coordinated enough and selfless enough, they could sway the tide of a battle. Khellendros was not a new player, nor did he fly cheap ships (unless, of course, the Black Tie Affair called for one), but he was the epitome of selflessness and coordination. He spent countless hours and countless amounts of in-game money coordinating logistics and paying for ships to ensure that every Playboy or friend could play the game as a group without having to worry about all of the boring and mundane tasks that distract players from being a part of the group.

Because of the time of day that I have availability to play Eve these days, Khellendros was often the only Playboy online at the same time as me. I remember one night we were bored and Khell found a mission to run but didn’t have a ship to run it in, so I let him borrow one of my most expensive ships. He scoffed and said “I don’t fly pauper-fits”. I laughed and logged off for the night. A few days later, he handed the ship back to me with fittings worth 10-15x more than what I handed him originally. I have kept this ship around because I didn’t know what to do with such an expensive ship, but now I will keep it around as a reminder of Khellendros and the things he did behind-the-scenes to enable me to have fun playing this game with my spaceship-buddies.

“Behind every superhero is a Handsome Millionaire Playboy.”

Rest in peace, Khell.
